Sam Barnett, PhD, is an applied mathematician and neuroscientist specializing in financial markets, consumer decisions, content engagement, and other complex systems. Dr. Barnett earned his BS with Honors in Applied & Computational Mathematics and Business Economics & Management Caltech and his PhD. in Neuroscience at Northwestern.
Sam has presented his research at numerous conferences, universities, and other venues, including the U.S. Capitol, and his work has been featured by Business Insider, CNBC, CNN, and other publications. He was honored to be included in Forbes Magazine's "30 Under 30" in Finance in 2014. He also holds multiple patents for neuroscience and healthcare technologies.
Dr. Barnett is passionate about supporting the community. He serves on the board of the Alliance for Decision Education and was recognized by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation as a Distinguished Advocate in 2017. He also launched a STEM scholarship and a monthly grant program during the COVID-19 pandemic with the mission of helping "ambitious organizations solving unmet needs with thoughtful, long-term strategies."
